Historic debate
On September 26, 1960, the first great political debate is broadcast on US television, forever altering the political landscape. The four presidential debates between Democratic candidate John F. Kennedy and Republican contender Richard Nixon are watched by 70 million people, the largest audience for a political program on American television. The debate is aired live at the Associação Escola Graduada de São Paulo’s campus on Rua Coronel Oscar Porto.
